There is a world of myth and magic that intersects ours, and only a special few can see it. Misao Harada is one such person, and she wants nothing to do with magical realms. She just wants to have a normal high school life and maybe get a boyfriend. All that changes one day when Misao is attacked by a demon. Her childhood friend Kyo suddenly returns to save her and tend to her cuts--with his tongue! It turns out Misao is the bride of prophecy, whose blood gives power to the demon clan who claims her. But most demons want to keep her power for themselves--by eating her! Now Misao is just trying to stay alive...and decide if she likes it when Kyo licks her wounds.

I absolutely love this manga. It's original, it's sexy, the characters are hot. /SWOON

Misao is the apple to every demon out there. Her blood makes them strong, her flesh makes them immortal, or when married, their clan has heightened prosperity. She has seen demons from a young age but now at the age of 16 they are finally revealing their true nature and their true intent.

Black Bird takes a new twist on the Tengu legends as well as Japanese demons that are inserted into this series. But the unfortunate aspect of Black Bird is our female protagonist is unable to defend herself without the help of Kyo or the Tengu clan. Even though, the damsel-in-distress status-quot keeps the story's action scenes fast paced, the love story interesting , the artwork beautiful, the characters well defined and three dimensional to a "T", and the cliff hangers always makes you crave more.

I'm extremely impress with how this manga has me hooked. I was wary of reading it at first because I didn't know what to expect with One: the cover and Two: the synopsis, but I can say that I'm very relieved that I have this one a try and it fits perfectly in my views.  Overall the series is beautiful and the love story that it spans out really makes your heart race.

I love the way Sakurakoji uses tengu, demons that don't get enough love.... I think the best part of the series is volume 3. Got that far?
And I like the cover too....but in all of them, it looks like he's going to do something pervy to her.... which he probably is *is shot*
Glad we both like this!
